Chamber Membership,

We are reaching out to you to ask you to share information on the PSCAA proposed gas tax - The Puget Sound Clean Air Agency (PSCAA) is proposing "Clean Fuel Standards" that would lead to regressive $0.22 - $0.57 per gallon tax for Pierce, King, Snohomish and Kitsap Counties, making our gas the most expensive in the nation, could go into effect as early as February 2020. In every scenario studied, we will lose jobs and dollars to our community, and it's going largely unnoticed by media and the community, so we are asking for your help to share information and encourage you to send letters to PSCAA.

Here is an information sheet created by the Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber of Commerce and Manufacturing Industrial Council that provide good statistical data on the impact of this proposed fuel tax.

We need you to speak up. This is going to impact families and businesses across the region but will disproportionately affect Pierce County households that have lower incomes and drive greater distances for work and services than our neighbors in King County.

Attend the public hearing December 19th at the Washington State Convention Center in Seattle (12:30pm - 4:30pm and 5pm - 8pm).
